Title: The enigmatic case of Enceladus
Speaker: Dr. Gael Choblet (CNRS-Universite de Nantes)
Abstract:
As the Cassini-Huygens flagship mission was planned and launched in the 1990s, Enceladus was one modest-size item among the large inner moons of Saturn. As Cassini completes its tour of the Saturn's system, Enceladus' activity is arguably the most important result of a mission yet distinguished with numerous major discoveries. This presentation will describe attempts to account for this outstanding character, looking at Enceladus' interior as a peculiar heat engine.
