Abstract:
In this double seminar we aim to give an overview of the research we have done here at ELSI over the past two months and present the latest results of this work.

We shall discuss the nature of the Late Veneer on the Earth and the other terrestrial planets followed by a discussion on the bombardment of the Earth, Moon and Mars after crust formation, and what these results imply for the conditions on the Hadean Earth, habitability and implications for planet formation models.

We follow this up by discussing the early heavy bombardment, an intense episode of cratering that commenced 4.25 billion years ago. We shall discuss the evidence for this event, its nature, cause and intensity and the implications for the subsequent evolution and habitable conditions on the Hadean Earth.

We aim to make these talks as encompassing as possible and make predictions and place constraints that are helpful to those who study origins of life and early Earth environment.
