Tetsuo Irifune, PI and Professor at Ehime University Geodynamics Research Center (ELSI's satellite institute) has been awarded the 2015 R.W. Bunsen medal from the European Geoscience Union (EGU).

Prof. Ififune, PI and head of ELSI Ehime satellite, will be awarded a Medal of Honor with Purple Ribbon, an honor conferred by the Japanese government on individuals who have contributed to the development of science and technology.
The award ceremony will be held on May 15.

ELSI PI Joe Kirschvink elected Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, "in recognition of his seminal contribution to the biophysical theory of magnetite-based magnetoreception".
The award ceremony will be held on July 15, 2015.

RIN Annual Meeting 2015

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) announced the recipients of the Commendation for Science and Technology Prizes 2015.
From the ELSI, Hiroki Ichikawa received the Prizes for Science and Technology(Public Understanding Promotion Category).
