1st International Workshop for Aquaplanetology concluded successfully

The 1st International Workshop for Aquaplanetology was held at the Mishima Hall, ELSI from March 4 to 6, 2019. The aim of the workshop was to have a comprehensive understanding of the formation and evolution of "aquaplanets" in the Solar System and beyond. During the period, the workshop focused on the following five components; 1. formation, 2. atmosphere and climate, 3. surface and aqueous environments, 4. interior, and 5. biosphere and chemical evolution--that itself or whose interactions would have played key roles in determining a variety of aquaplanets.

Several ELSI researchers took part in the workshop; Yasuhito Sekine, Hidenori Genda, Shigeru Ida, Ramon Brasser, Ryuki Hyodo, Ramses Ramirez, Norio Kitadai, Shawn McGlynn, and Tomohiro Usui.
