The 5th ELSI International Symposium: Expanding Views on the Emergence of the Biosphere was held on January 11-13th, 2017, at Titech Kuramae Hall.

Starting with the pre-event "Young Researchers' Day" on January 10, over 100 researchers in various field gathered and shared many lectures and discussions for three days.
All talks at the hall were webcasted via SAGANet.org and some research presentation was also published in the articles. Exciting research activities has been widely delivered to the world.
